First Experiences in Germany

Moritz and Ella in Diepholz
Ella met Georg's sister Inga and her children for the first time, Moritz and Luise and we all had fun with them in Diepholz with Mama and Papa.  Saturday, Georg and I went to buy a mattress for us all, one for Ella, and then one twin for Georg and I, making a King, Thank goodness Inga was watching Ella, because we had one full car (Mama and Papa's) so much in fact Georg had to stick his head out the window uncomfortably to fit.  We are starting to get more moved in.  I will start posting pictures soon.
I set up my bank account today with Georg's and registered at the Rathaus = Courthouse by myself. The gentleman and I managed with little bits of German and English.  In fact I entered the Rathaus and at the Information Desk I informed the Frau what I was there to do in German trying my best Ich muss Register, (I must register), she immediately responded in English, go to room 8.  I was perplexed why she spoke to me in English and then proceeded to room 8 and then guessing the man was asking what I needed to do, and said the same thing, again he responded in English.  This time I was really confused if there was a look on my face that said I'm American or something.  I asked him what the German word for Register was = Anmelden and said OH that is why you spoke English to me in response, ha ha.  I guess I made the word sound German, thinking it was right as some words are...
I went to the bakery by myself and bought some lecker brotchen = yummy bread and walked through the town, it is so beautiful.  Last night I bought a eine mutze=hat for Ella at H&M by myself and we had Italian Eis =Ice Cream together for Family Home Evening.
We went to Church on Sunday at the Branch in Koblenz, unfortunately we can not get to it without a car, so we will have to buy one.  It is a good size branch about 60 people I think and everyone is very nice.  There is only one young women, two young men that are brothers, and a good number of kids in San Antonio we had more than 30 Young Women that I worked with.  Lot's of people weren't there my first Sunday so we will see next week as well.  There are other babies there too, so Ella will have some cute little friends.  In fact she already has one little boy friend, Milo, he is 8 months old and shared a decke=blanket and windel=diaper with Ella, as I forgot them in hurrying to get to church.
After church and naps we went to Koblenz and walked along the Rhein and Mosel rivers, it is there at the Deutsches Eck that the rivers meet and where the Mosel river starts.  There is a big monument to Wilhelm dem Grosse = Wilhelm the Great who was an early and important leader in joining the different states to become Germany.  I love the old town and beauty of this place and wow the castles, just on the 5 minute drive from our house to Koblenz there were 3 castles.

I am SO excited for you to be there. You are so adventurous and brave and I'm so proud of you. I LOVE the updates, I hope you write often. I am already wondering how much it's going to cost so we can come visit you soon.

The pictures are great - Ella looks so happy to be with her family in Germany. And I like your hair long like that with the cute 'bangs'. Hope Georg is enjoying being back in school. We love you all.
