New Job

Georg had a number of job offers, but the one that felt right came along. He just happened to talk to the recruiter of Daymon Worldwide at the BYU career fair. He had visited all the ones he had planned to go to and was learning more about others there. Chris at the Career Fair was talking to Georg and told him that they were interviewing for internships, he said he was graduating and that wouldn't work for him. She was impressed with him and said all their interview spots were full but that she would try to fit him in. They were unable to, but she called and had a phone interview with him and then flew him out to their corporate headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut. Georg loved his trip there. It is just outside of Manhattan, so he got to explore a little in New York. He took lot's of fun pictures for me. Well, the interviews went well, because the next day he got a call with an offer from Daymon Worldwide. He was selected for one of the few spots for the Management Trainee program, where they recruit from Stanford, Princeton, Yale, etc. top schools and only 10 are chosen. So for a year we would go to Minneapolis, Minnesota while he receives an equivalent of 5-7 years work experience in just that time. Then we will have the opportunity to relocate to a place of our choice of what positions are available at the time when he is done. It was exciting for us, but I was a little nervous at first, just because we won't know really where we will end up. But now we love the idea and everyday Georg looks up places that are looking for a business manager with Daymon and what locations would be a possibility. We just found out that Singapore could be an option!!! If you have read my sister Amy's blog you can see what a special place Singapore is in all of our hearts, since my family lived there for 4 years. We all loved it so much. In addition Daymon is all over the US, they are in England, South Africa, Germany, etc. These are a number of places we would love to be for a time. We also realize what a great opportunity this job is in being able to have such international opportunities, and national choices. We are excited for what is in store for us and that this is the perfect time to be able to live so sporadically, when we don't need to be so permanent for children. Anyway, we came out here May 30th. We rented a Penske truck and drove through Wyoming, Nebraska, Iowa, and into Minnesota. We live just outside of Minneapolis in a place called Eden Prairie. It is beautiful here. I will tell more about the trip at another time. And the fun that we are having here. I am so proud of Georg for all of his hard work and dedication. He has been extremely proactive in his career search and so fun about it all and all of our possibilities. He is the smartest and greatest man I know and I am so happy with Daymon Worldwide and that they chose my man.
