Mama and Papa came to visit on Thursday and Georg had a day off on April 1st so we went back North with them, to Diepholz (Hannover/Hamburg area). We had borrowed their car and went for the weekend for fun and to get our new car that Papa found in Diepholz.
We went to a Frühlings = Easter/Spring Markt = Market. It is like a traveling Carnival with rides and we had fun walking around and let Ella sit on a ride. I tried Champignons = Mushrooms a traditional Market food, they were steamed up and with a Krauter = Herb cream sauce. Lecker = Yummy!
Floh Markt = Flea Market (they don't do Garage Sales here, this was the town's gathering they do twice a year) I found a bunch of coins for sale with a few American ones, I had never seen ones this old, 1800's and I bought the oldest a 1796 coin, with Lady Liberty on it for 3 Euros. If it is the real thing, it is apparently worth a couple of thousand dollars from what I have found on the internet. We shall see. It really is beautiful. http://www.coinweek.com/news/featured-news/1796-half-dollar-leads-9-68-million-sacramento-coin-auction/
Saturday was a perfect day, after the rain it warmed up real nice and Ella sunbathed naked for a few minutes. As you can see Georg held her, I thought he would keep her diaper = windel on and as you can guess what happened without it, sure did - that was funny!
We went swimming at the indoor pool in Diepholz called Delfin = Dolphin. Ella had a blast she was super happy the whole time and so did we, Holger and I took turns going down the slide and swimming some laps! It was so fun!
Our Sunday Adventure was driving back to Niederwerth in our New car. It is about 3 1/2 hour drive which was how far we used to be from my parents in Texas. Ella was perfect both trips. We went just before nap time, she ate and then played and fell asleep and then played the rest of the time, we stopped once imbetween. It was raining super hard, we could hardly see! April showers bring May flowers. I am interested to see what that looks like, because it is already incredible.
