Last year we had a wonderful time in Germany over Christmas and the New Year. Mom wanted us in Texas this year, but we decided after spending Thanksgiving with them in Nauvoo we would celebrate and make our own traditions. So we had a great time just the two of us.
We enjoyed leading up to Christmas with celebrating each Advent on Sunday and lighting a new candle as the Germans do and then we enjoyed Heilige Nacht, the Holy evening of the Christ child by reading and singing songs. I made for the first time every dish for our special Christmas meal and it all turned out great, I was proud of the accomplishment and so was Georg. We had Honey Ham, Mashed potatoes/Patrician potatoes, gravy, fresh cranberry sauce, green beans, salad, and rolls. It was yummy. The Weinachtsman came, Santa Claus and we enjoyed opening presents to and from each other.
New Year's we joined some friends from church as well, quite a few families all with children. They invite us because we are just children ourselves. :) We had a great time, and Georg rocked
out with the other men on Guitar Hero, they had a great time. We loved all the kids there and enjoyed ourselves, we celebrated the New Year early for the kids at 10 and then left soon after. We packed for Chicago and made toasts the two of us, ringing in the New Year.

Everything looks so beautiful, as always. I keep dreaming about updating our bedroom, but I don't have any great ideas. You need to come stay with us for a week or two and help me out :)
