So it has been a while since I have spent some time here. I finally looked back at some comments and found that some of my friends like Kristin and Jena have started blogs! That is so exciting and on one of there's it showed that it had been a month since I posted. Oh wow! So much has happened I guess.
So those of you that may not know Georg and I are living in Minneapolis Minnesota, he is working with an International Marketing and Management company called Daymon Worldwide and is working with an account they have here called Super Valu, they have a lot of grocery chains in the East. He is doing well. We will be here a little over a year and will see what other locations we will get to choose from closer to the completion here. He checks it daily; Germany, South Africa, China, Singapore, and then San Francisco, etc. Who knows where we will end up. We are loving it here and experiencing what it feels like to be where the Lord wants us to be.
We are really blessed and have loved feeling needed and appreciated here in this Ward. They have made us feel so welcome and special. We are in the Ward with the Mission President for this area. We got to meet the Smith's on the tail end of there service and I enjoyed talking with Sister Smith. She reminded me a lot of my mission president's wife in Portland, Oregon who was also preparing to complete their service. So I got the privilege of helping her clean the house for the new family. I was also asked by a good friend in the Ward if I would be able to help out with Girl's Camp, they needed another leader at night. We had just been here a couple of weeks and still feeling like a newly wed I was not sure about leaving Georg all week; so I asked him, he was so excited for me and encouraged me to do it, because he knew how much fun I would have. He was right! I went in July and had a blast with the Girls and got to know them really well.
As if inspired for me to already be going to camp, I later got asked to be a Young Women's Advisor. I am working with the new Mission President's daughter Lorri Beth. She is the biggest sweetheart and my new best friend. She is 12 and has Down's Syndrome, so I am there to help her. It has been so wonderful getting to know her and to feel of her love. We have a lot of fun together. She tells me she loves me all the time and makes sure that she knows that I love her, and she tells me I am awesome. Lorri Beth even came to Girl's Camp during the day for two days and had a wonderful time. The girls really got to see more of her personality and bond with her too, she is rad herself. The Howell's are an incredible family and such a blessing. I am so grateful for Lorri Beth and my opportunity to be with the Young Women here.
I have been staying busy with the Young Women, learning German, attempting an Independent Study Course I will be exchanging, and getting settled here, keeping house. Georg is out of town this whole week and I miss him terribly. He will have to be leaving again in two weeks and so I have planned a trip to Texas to see my family and then my Mom will be driving back up with me. We will be bringing my bed from home and other keepsakes I still have there. We are looking forward to it! She will spend some time with Georg and I here, which I am looking forward to, my mom loves Georg and he adores her. Then after that I am hoping to find something with the Elementary schools here for work. We will see how it all continues to work out. I will post pictures soon.
